Automation Engineer Lead

Required:

  • Bachelor´s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation.
  • 2 – 3 years of experience at least
  • Expert in PLC Program (Allen Bradley), HMI’s & Automatization
  • Fully Bilingual (English/Spanish) will be a plus
  • Robotic and Manual Assembly, Mechanical design manufacturing, Lean Manufacturing Pro launch knowledge

Primary Functions:

  • Establishes preventative maintenance and service programs, procedures, and record systems in order to audit the performance of the services.
  • Ensures excellence in Engineering using best practice methods, processes and tools.
  • Manage direct personnel development including performance reviews, training plans and development needs.
  • Accurately access and utilize the capabilities of others, positively motivating others to succeed. In addition, manage talent in and out of the organization as necessary.
  • Perform corrective maintenance to automatic machines and reduce Downtime

  • Lead effort in creating financial justification and business case for capital proposals.
  • Generate, plan, submit and implement strategic business plans to support equipment and equipment improvements to maintain competitive edge in market.
  • Direct new manufacturing technology processes and research development proposals to improve operating/financial performance, reduce manufacturing lead time, reduce operating cost.
  • Support in areas of production, manufacturing, and quality in specific test-related issues, report equipment capabilities, generate functional coverage reports, and product traceability.
  • Improve and maintain test programs in order to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Generate backups on test equipment following internal instructions as well as documentation of changes to test programs.
  • Implement engineering changes tracking these with manufacturing and quality department
  • Integration of new automated systems on production lines according to the company’s documentation and guidelines.
  • Support product engineering in the analysis of product failures and/or electronic components. Ensure that assembly and test fixtures meet the company’s internal requirements for Stress testing.
  • Review and manage payables.
